QLD Preceptor of the Month

Robyn Parson, January Preceptor of the Month, pictured with Jo Fahey Noosa Hospital Staff Development manager.

"I am the wards new grad RN and have never done a placement in Noosa or with Ramsay Health Care as a student. During my supernumery period Robyn’s professionalism and patience with me made my transition from student to grad RN enjoyable. The way she educated and taught me the wards routine, policies and procedures that I didn’t know at the time was really helpful. She implemented this by gradually stepping back and increasing my workload until I was comfortable with these tasks independently. This is my 4th week on the ward and I feel I am comfortable and confident on the ward to practise safely and independently as an RN within the team environment. I have several preceptors as a student and Robyn’s guidance, professionalism, mentoring and very approachable persona has made her a stand out to me. I will be using and applying particular nursing skills and traits in my practise that are developed from her mentoring.”

'Amir was a massive support and let me do all clinical skills, with supervision and assistance when required. He helped me to improve my techniques to make me a better nurse. He helped with all questions I had and explained every stage in care of patients from admission to discharge. My techniques and knowledge has improved by far because of Amir.'
